Which one does your car need?
The short version: high mileage, or lots of short stop-start trips, and an Interim in between earns its keep. Steadier mileage, and a Full is usually all it needs. Plenty of people alternate the two. Both are carried out to manufacturer specification.
Not sure? Tell us the car and how you use it, and we will point you the right way rather than sell you the bigger one.
The lighter of the two, and the one that suits higher mileage in between Fulls. It keeps the oil fresh and the safety-critical parts checked so wear does not build up unseen.
- Engine oil & filter change
- All fluid levels checked & topped up
- Full visual safety check — brakes, suspension, steering
- Lights and tyres checked
- Air and cabin filter replacement
The deeper of the two. Everything in an Interim, plus the air filter and the cabin filter, and a proper wheels-off look at the brakes rather than a visual check. Fuel filters and spark plugs are fitted where they are required, at an extra cost.
- Everything in Interim Service
- Air filter replaced
- Cabin filter replaced
- Fuel filters and spark plugs — fitted where required, at an extra cost
- MOT test: add for +£39.99 alongside any service
- Warranty-specific parts for cars still under manufacturer warranty (message us first so we can order them)
It comes down to how you drive.
Not the car so much as the miles and the kind of journeys. Here is how to place yourself.
If you cover big miles, or your driving is mostly short stop-start town runs, an Interim in between keeps on top of the wear. Short trips are harder on a car than the mileage suggests, because the engine never fully warms up and moisture stays in the oil.
If you do average, steady mileage, a Full Service is usually all your car needs. It is the deeper of the two and resets the clock on the wear items.
Plenty of people alternate the two, taking a Full and then an Interim in between. It spreads the cost and keeps the car looked at more than once without over-servicing it.
Tell us the registration and roughly what you do in the car, and we will point you to the one it actually needs rather than the bigger one. It is free to ask.
No surprises when you collect.
An Interim is £199.99 and a Full is £299.99, and that is what the service costs. Anything we find beyond the service itself is separate work, priced on what it actually needs rather than folded into the service price.
And if your car is due an MOT around the same time, add a Class 4 MOT to either service for just +£39.99 instead of £49.99 on its own.
All prices include VAT. MOTs are zero-rated, so there is no VAT on an MOT.
